Two Taiwanese Air Force Pilots Killed in Trainer Aircraft Crash
The T-34 aircraft was performing a simulated engine-failure exercise when it went down near the northern end of the runway, Taiwanese leader William Lai Ching-te disclosed in a statement published on social media platform Facebook.
Authorities announced that a dedicated task force has been assembled to determine the cause of the crash.
Lai extended his condolences to the families of the fallen pilots, characterizing the incident as a "sudden tragedy" while honoring the airmen for their service and sacrifice.
